We work around you. Rugs are collected and returned overnight, over a weekend or in your quietest window, so reception and meeting areas stay in use, and large foyer rugs that cannot practically move are cleaned in place. Most rugs collected for washing are back in 1 to 3 working days, and a thick wool piece may take a little longer to dry. We give you the return date up front and work to it.
Every Kind of Rug, Washed the Right Way
The fibre decides the method. Durable synthetic contract rugs are stable and colourfast, so they go through our rug-washing machine, where agitation and a large volume of water lift out the embedded grit that hand work cannot reach. Wool, silk, hand-knotted and natural-dye rugs are colour tested and washed by hand with WoolSafe-approved chemistry, and viscose and other fibres that water damages are dry cleaned.
Every rug is washed at our own facility, which runs dusting machines, dedicated rug-washing machines, centrifuges and drying rooms, and is never passed to a third-party wash house. Each one is dried flat and checked until it is dry right through, because a rug dried too fast or unevenly is what makes colours run and foundations warp.

Rugs are sized by area, length × width, in brackets of up to 2m², 5m², 7m², 9m² and 12m², with larger rugs priced per square metre, and each bracket has a synthetic price and a slightly higher delicate price for wool, silk and hand-knotted rugs. Collection and return are included. Carpeted floors are different: carpet is quoted per site.
Every quote is all-inclusive: dirt, grease and stain treatment, deodorisation and the final rinse are part of the price, with no call-out fee. - Can you clean a large foyer rug without removing it?
- Usually, yes. Large rugs that cannot practically be moved are cleaned in place, by hand, with low-moisture technique and controlled drying, scheduled overnight or during your quietest window so the area is back in use by opening. Where a rug needs a full wash, whether because of heavy soiling or because it is a synthetic due for a machine wash, we collect, wash, dry and return it.
- Can you clean the Persian and wool rugs in our building?
- Yes, along with every other rug you have. Wool, Persian and other hand-knotted rugs are colour tested before any moisture is applied and washed by hand with pH-appropriate, WoolSafe-approved chemistry, and they cost the same to clean as any other rug of the same size. We carry public liability insurance covering all work on client premises, and documentation is available for your procurement process.
- We are a laundromat or dry cleaner. Can we send rug work to you?
- Yes, and it is work we actively take on. Equipment built for clothing and household linen cannot clean a wool, silk or hand-knotted rug without risking the pile, the dyes and the fringe, so a customer arriving with a rug is either work you turn away or work you take on at real risk. We take it instead. Wool, silk and hand-knotted pieces are washed by hand, section by section, with dye-fastness tested before any moisture is applied, and synthetic rugs go through our rug-washing machine. We are rug dry cleaners as well, so the pieces that must never be immersed, viscose and art silk, sisal, jute and seagrass, unstable antique dyes and hand-tufted rugs with failing latex, are cleaned dry in the dry cleaning area of our facility rather than declined. You keep the customer relationship, and you decide whether we deal with your customer directly or stay behind you. We never name your business publicly and we do not approach your customers for other work.
