For cleaning companies
Rug cleaning under your name
We clean rugs for other cleaning companies under their name. You keep the customer, we clean the rug at our own facility, and it comes back to you ready to hand over, in 2 to 5 working days. Every kind of rug, including the viscose, silk and antique pieces you would rather not put through your own machine.
Never turn a rug away again
Your customer asks you to do the rug while you are there doing the carpets. It is a viscose, or an old wool piece with dyes you are not sure of, and cleaning it in their lounge with a carpet machine is a risk to the rug and to your name. Turning it down sends your customer looking for someone else.
Hand it to us instead. You quote your customer, the rug comes to us (we agree collection or drop-off with you up front), we clean it at our own rug facility with the method its fibre calls for, and give it back to you ready to return. Your customer deals with you from start to finish.
Trade turnaround is 2 to 5 working days. Where a rug lands in that range depends on its fibre and how long it takes to dry through, and we tell you the date at intake so you can tell your customer.

How white-label works with us
The point of handing work on is that it comes back looking like yours. These are the things that make that true.
Your customer, your name
The rug goes back to you, not to your customer, and you hand it over as your own work. We do not contact your customer, quote them or market to them, unless you ask us to deal with them directly.
Nothing on the rug says who cleaned it
We never staple, pin, tape or sew a tag to a rug. Every piece is identified by photograph on our own tracking system, so it comes back without a mark, a label or a hole, and without our name on it.
A report on every rug
Each rug is photographed at intake, including wear, old stains, moth damage or a previous dye bleed, and you get a report on it, so you know before we start what will come out and what is permanent. That is the answer you need when your customer asks.
The rugs you would rather not risk
Viscose and art silk, natural silk, sisal and jute, antique and hand-knotted pieces, rugs with unstable dyes. We dry clean the fibres that water damages, wash wool and silk by hand, and machine wash stable synthetics, so you never have to turn a rug away.
Approved for every kind of rug
The Carpet Guys are a WoolSafe and CleanSeal Approved Service Provider, membership SA126 002. WoolSafe covers wool and natural fibres; CleanSeal covers the synthetics most everyday rugs are made of. Holding both is what lets you send us any rug your customer has, and our entry is on the public WoolSafe register.
Every rug is cleaned at our own facility and never passed on to a third-party wash house, so the rug you hand us stays with the technicians who assessed it.
How a trade job runs
Send photographs
WhatsApp or email us the front, the back and a corner of the rug, with its rough size. We tell you the fibre, the method it needs and what to expect, before anything is collected.
Collection or drop-off
Whether we collect from you or you drop rugs off, and how they come back, is agreed at our first meeting so it fits the way you work. Rugs are photographed and logged at intake against your own job reference.
Cleaned at our facility
Dusted, dye tested, then washed by machine, washed by hand or dry cleaned, depending on the fibre. Dried flat and checked until the foundation is dry right through.
Back to you
Inspected against its intake photographs, wrapped and back with you within 2 to 5 working days, ready to hand to your customer.
Which method your customer's rug gets
Machine washed: stable synthetics
Polypropylene, olefin, nylon, polyester and machine-made synthetic pile. A stable, colourfast synthetic gives up embedded soil to agitation and water volume in a way hand work cannot, so the rug-washing machine is the deepest clean for it.
Washed by hand: wool, silk and hand-knotted
Wool and wool blends, natural silk, cotton, kilim and flatweave, hand-knotted Persian and oriental, and antique rugs whose dyes pass a colourfastness test. These are washed by hand, section by section, after the dyes have been tested, because that is the safest clean for a fibre that a machine could felt, distort or bleed.
Dry cleaned: viscose and the fibres water damages
We are rug dry cleaners as well as rug washers, and our rug facility includes a dedicated dry cleaning area for delicate pieces. Dry cleaning a rug means cleaning it with controlled low moisture or a solvent carrier rather than immersing it, and it is the correct method for a specific set of fibres, the ones that water itself damages. On those pieces the rug is cleaned dry, dried fast under managed airflow, and never put through a wash. Which method a rug gets is decided by fibre identification and dye testing at intake, and we tell you which yours is before any work starts.
Dry cleaned fibres: Viscose and everything sold as art silk, bamboo silk, banana silk or rayon; sisal, jute, seagrass and coir; antique and naturally dyed rugs whose colours fail a colourfastness test; hand-tufted rugs whose latex backing has begun to break down; and any rug already showing browning or previous dye bleed.
Tracked without a tag
Staples and pins rust into wool and cotton during the wash and the drying that follows, and tagging-gun needles punch a hole through the weave that never closes on a hand-knotted or silk rug. A photograph does neither. Every rug is tracked on P.A.R.T.S., the Photographic Area Rug Tracking System, our own software, against your job reference.
We clean rugs; we do not repair or restore them. Wear, sun fading and previous dye damage are photographed and pointed out at intake, before any work starts. Read more on our rug cleaning page, our cleaning process and our WoolSafe and CleanSeal approval.
Trade rug cleaning questions
- Do you clean rugs for other cleaning companies?
- Yes. The Carpet Guys clean rugs white-label for other cleaning companies in Gauteng. The partner keeps the customer and its own name on the job; the rug comes to our own rug facility (collected or dropped off, as agreed at the first meeting), is cleaned there and goes back to the partner, not to the customer. Nothing is attached to the rug to identify it and nothing that goes back to the partner carries our branding, so it comes back without a tag, a label or our name. The partner gets a photographed report on each rug. Trade turnaround is 2 to 5 working days.
- What is the turnaround for trade rug cleaning?
- Trade turnaround is 2 to 5 working days from collection to the rug being back with the partner. A stable synthetic sits at the short end; a thick wool rug, a hand-washed delicate or a dry-clean-only piece can take longer, because a rug is dried flat until the foundation is dry right through rather than hurried. We give the expected date for each rug at intake.
- Which rugs can we send you?
- Every kind. Stable synthetics (polypropylene, nylon, polyester) are machine washed. Wool, wool blends, natural silk, cotton, kilim and hand-knotted Persian and oriental rugs are washed by hand after a colourfastness test. Viscose and art silk, sisal, jute, seagrass, rugs with unstable dyes and hand-tufted rugs with failing latex are dry cleaned in a dedicated area of our facility, never immersed. We clean rugs; we do not repair or restore them.
- Will you contact our customer?
- No, not unless you ask us to. On white-label work we deal only with you: the rug is collected from and returned to you, and we do not approach your customer for this or any other work. Some partners prefer to hand the contact over to us instead, and that is fine too. You decide which applies.
- How is trade rug cleaning priced?
- Trade rates are agreed with each partner and are not published, so that you can set your own price to your customer. Send us photographs and sizes of the rugs you have, or tell us roughly how many you expect a month. Trade terms, including collection or drop-off, are agreed at our first meeting.
- Are you qualified to clean wool and synthetic rugs?
- Yes. The Carpet Guys are a WoolSafe and CleanSeal Approved Service Provider, membership SA126 002, which covers wool and synthetic fibres, and our master technician is a WoolSafe and CleanSeal Approved Fibre Care Specialist. We are listed on the public WoolSafe register.
