A carpet can look fine and still hold years of someone else’s life: dust, spills, pet hair and pet accidents you only notice once the furniture is gone and the room warms up. If you have small children who will be crawling on it, or anyone with allergies, that matters.

    Carpets are dry in 2–6 hours. Open a few windows and it goes faster.

  4. Move in, or hand over

    Your new home is fresh, or the old one is ready for the inspection.

Getting the timing right

The best time is when the rooms are empty. We can reach every corner, the clean is quicker, and there is nothing to move. If you can, book the clean for the day before the movers arrive at your new home, so the carpets are fully dry before boxes and furniture go down.

Questions people ask

Should I clean the carpets before moving into a new house?
Yes, if you can. Empty rooms are quicker and easier to clean, and a deep clean removes the dust, spills, pet hair and smells left by the people who lived there before. Book it for the day before your furniture arrives, so the carpets are dry when you move in.
Will professional carpet cleaning help me get my deposit back?
It gives you the best chance. Dirty carpets are one of the most common reasons for deposit deductions. A professional clean deals with stains, traffic marks and smells that a vacuum cannot, and the invoice shows your landlord or agent that it was done. Cleaning cannot fix damage like burns, tears, bleach marks or sun fading.
How long before I can put furniture back on the carpet?
Carpets are dry in 2 to 6 hours, depending on how thick they are, the weather and how much air is moving. Opening windows speeds it up. If furniture has to go back sooner, we can put protective tabs under the legs.
Do you clean the carpets in an empty rental between tenants?
