Professional upholstery cleaning in Johannesburg is priced per piece, from R49 for a throw pillow to R1,499 for an L-shaped couch. Most two- and three-seater couches fall between R899 and R1,199. Pricing is all-inclusive, deodorisation, stain treatment, urine treatment and a hypoallergenic rinse are built into every price, and there are no call-out fees and no hidden extras.
Upholstery cleaning prices at a glance
Upholstery is priced by the piece, not by the hour, so you know the cost before we arrive. These are our 2026 all-inclusive rates:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Throw pillow | R49 |
| Dining or office chair | R149 |
| Ottoman | R299 |
| Armchair | R599 |
| Dual (two-seater) couch | R899 |
| Triple (three-seater) couch | R1,199 |
| Sleeper couch | R1,199 |
| L-shaped couch | R1,499 |
| Oversized or modular suite | from R4,999 |
A typical lounge suite, a three-seater plus two armchairs, comes to R1,199 + R599 + R599 = R2,397, fully treated, with nothing added at the end. You can see the full list on the pricing page.
What is included in every upholstery clean
The quoted price is the price you pay. Every piece includes, at no extra cost:
- Deodorisation treatment
- Stain treatment for removable stains
- Urine treatment and odour neutralisation
- Rejuvenation treatment
- A hypoallergenic rinse that removes allergen proteins and cleaning residue
- No call-out fee
What drives the price of a couch clean
- Size and number of seats. The main factor. A two-seater is R899; a three-seater R1,199; an L-shape R1,499. We count the piece, not the cushions.
- Fabric type. Before we clean anything we find the fabric's cleaning code, W, S, W/S or X, and match the method to it. Delicate and natural-fibre fabrics need lower moisture and gentler chemistry, which we explain in how to clean a fabric sofa and what the W, S, W/S and X codes mean.
- Level of soiling. Stain, urine and odour treatment are already included, so a well-used couch is not usually more expensive, the treatments are part of the price.
Is professional upholstery cleaning worth the price?
A quality couch costs many thousands of rand, and professional cleaning is a small fraction of that. The real value is in doing it without harming the fabric: the two mistakes that ruin couches at home, over-wetting the foam core and water-marking delicate fabric, are exactly the ones a careful professional is equipped to avoid. We use controlled, low-moisture extraction so cushions dry in hours rather than staying damp inside. We cover the full case in is it worth getting your sofa professionally cleaned.
Optional fabric protection
You can add MasterGuard fabric protection to any piece after it is cleaned. It is a water-based, pet- and family-safe treatment that helps spills bead on the surface instead of soaking in. Protecting an item costs the same as cleaning it, so an armchair is R599 to clean and R599 to protect. It is optional, and most useful on light-coloured fabric and family couches, see our guide to fabric protectors.
Common questions
How much does it cost to clean a three-seater couch?
A three-seater couch is R1,199, fully treated, with deodorisation, stain, urine and odour treatment and a hypoallergenic rinse all included and no call-out fee.
Do you charge per cushion or per seat?
Per piece. A couch is priced as one item based on its size, two-seater, three-seater, sleeper or L-shape, not per cushion.
Is stain and odour treatment extra?
No. Deodorisation, stain treatment and urine and odour treatment are included in every upholstery price. Nothing is added at the end.
How often should a couch be cleaned?
Every 12 to 18 months for normal use, and every 6 to 12 months for a daily-use couch or a home with pets or young children. See how often you should clean your couch.
